Khaleda attends doa mahfil for K M Obaid

milad and doa mahfil was held on Friday in the city seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of BNP standing committee member and veteran politician KM Obaidur Rahman. BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia attended the religious gathering at Chairmanbari ground at Banani after Asar prayers in the afternoon.
She took part in the milad and munajat, sitting in a special enclosure meant for women.
Obaidur Rahman's widow Prof Shaheda Obaid and his other family members greeted Begum Zia on her arrival at the venue.
Speaker Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar, Dhaka city Mayor Sadeq Hossain Khoka, former ministers and MPs, leaders of BNP and other political parties, and relatives, friends and admirers of Obaidur Rahman attended the programme.
Those who took part in the milad and doa included BNP leaders Khandaker Delwar Hossain, Khandaker Mahbubuddin Ahmed, Lt Gen (retd) Mahbubur Rahman, Maj Gen (retd) ZA Khan, Shah Moazzem Hossain, Inam Ahmed Chowdhury, Kamal Ibne Yusuf, Dr A Moyeen Khan, Maidul Islam, Nazrul Islam Khan, Barrister Abul Hasnat, Selima Rahman, Sarwari Rahman, JSD President ASM Abdur Rob, Workers Party chief Rashed Khasn Menon and central leader Haider Akbar Khan Rono, and Jatiya Party leaders Sheikh Shahidul Islam and Shaukat Hossain Nilu.
